Saint Emilion Grand Cru Chateau l'Hermitage in 2009

This region produces wines of global notoriety imitated but never equaled: Chateau Ausone, Chateau Petrus and Chateau Angelus to name a few. Yet the historical recognition of the wines of the right bank is later than serious or Medoc. Although there was already producing time of the Roman conquest of wine in the eleventh century, interest in this region is parallel to the construction of the bridge across the Dordogne in 1820. Everything here is different from other regions Bordelaises: the soil is limestone The climate is experiencing a moderate maritime influence with important thermal amplitudes and large majority grape is undoubtedly the Merlot. This gives the wine a bright and fruity roundness which makes them very accessible and very pleasant in their early youth with an important aging potential than the Médoc Grands Crus Classés from the best producers. Saint Emilion is perhaps the most accessible area to discover the great wines of Bordeaux.
